Oh Canada
Well we made it into Canada Monday morning and then traveled West along their Hwy 1 first through Manitoba then Saskatchewan and finally Alberta. We camped that night in a real nice provincial park and met some locals who were camped there. It's always nice to visit with other folks while on a trip like this.
Tuesday we continued on and dropped back into the U.S. and camped just outside Glacier National Park near the East entrance. Tomorrow we'll be riding through the park and out the West entrance.

The second rally is over, on to the third.
Steve and I are back on the road headed North and West. We had a great time at the MOA rally meeting new friends and seeing old ones. We had get togethers every night with other K1600 owners. I joined the Airhead group. No not a bunch of airheads but folks that ride and restore old air cooled BMW motorcycles. I'm buying a 1975 R90S from my Uncle later this summer and will need a lot of advice when it comes to restoring it.
I have now ridden a motorcycle in all of the 49 continental United States and in the next couple days will add 2 more Canadian Provinces to my list.
Today was very cool and overcast so we decided to hole up in a motel. We found an Indian casino with a nice buffet in North Dakota. In the morning it's on to Canada, eh.

Made it to the MOA rally
Well Steve and I made it to St. Paul for the BMW MOA rally. We'll be here for the weekend before heading up to Canada and beyond.

On to Steve's
Today I rode 525 miles to Steve's house in Kansas City, MO. I hit the road at 5:30am to avoid some heat but I still got hit with 95+ temps most of the afternoon and arrived at 3:00pm.
Tomorrow is a day of relaxing and then Wednesday we'll ride up to St. Paul, MN for the BMW MOA rally.

A little catch up.
I didn't have good WiFi in Paonia so I'll do some catching up. Friday I stayed at the rally site and talked to some of the other riders, a few of which I had met last year at the MOA rally in Salem, OR. There were about 6 vendors selling motorcycle related items and 4 local food vendors. That evening they had some live music going on in the beer garden.
Saturday I took a ride from Paonia down Highway 92, which is a great motorcycle road that I and riding buddies have been on several times, to The Blue Mesa Reservoir. I rode East along it and then up and over Monarch Pass. From Salida I turned South and at Saguach I looped back North on Hwy 114 which is where I saw the mountain goats pictured below. Then back West along Blue Mesa and up Hwy 92 again.
Back at camp, that evening, there was a tasty pulled pork dinner and more live music. I hit the sack around midnight for a restful sleep.
This morning was a leisurely tear down of the tent and many good byes to the folks I met at the rally. A few of them are going to the MOA rally in St. Paul next weekend so I'll see them there.
So far the ride this morning has had perfect weather and riding temperatures. I'm stopped just off I-70 right now and will probably ride down past our cabin in Grant while on my way to Limon, CO for tonight's stay.
