Day 2

A lot cooler today, in the 70s and mid 80s, until the last hour then in the 90s. We did have a couple light rain showers but they felt good to ride through with our mesh gear.

Some nice roads with long sweepers and up and down elevations. Traffic was sparce with lots of passing zones. It was a fairly long day. We satarted after breakfast at a local cafe in Richfield, UT at 8:00 and stopped at our motel in Riverton, WY at 4:30. Steve arrived a few minutes later.

First day

Can you say HOT? 105F a couple times, 198-100 most of the time. the 3 of us are from Arizon so no big deal. I haven't heard from Steve but I can imagine he had a warm ride too. We arrived at our motel at 3:40 local time so not too long of a day.

Day 14

Last day together which was a down day. Went to Hill City for breakfast then back to Keystone. Some of the guys did laundry others relaxed. We had a nice supper then sat around at the motel to reminisce about the weeks ride.

In the morning we pretty much all head to different locations. Rick to Nebraska to visit old friends. Frank to Iowa to pick up Kim and ride back to Arizona. Steve is heading home to Kansas City. Jerry and I will take 3 leisurely days getting home.

Thanks for following along.

Day 13

We did an earlier than usual ride today that took us into Custer State Park and a bison herd in the road. Traffic was stopped both ways for quite awhile until cars just started to push forward moving them out of the way. I should have taken pictures when I was surrounded but I was a little preoccupied.

We then worked our way to Mount Rushmore. From there to Sturgis where we went to a small motorcycle museum. Frank then took us to the new Full Throttle Saloon.

The long way around back to Keystone and supper.

Day 12

Took a ride up Spearfish Canyon to Spearfish and then around to Deadwood where we parked and walked around.

Afterwards we took a back road through Nemo to Rapid City where we stopped at Dinosaur Park. Ended up back at the motel.

We are killing time until we ride to a bar and grill where the other guys will watch the Phoenix Suns game.

Day 11

We took a back road to Hill City for breakfast then spent the better part of the day slooowly driving through Custer State Park and stopping at the Chief Crazy Horse monument. Back to Keystone to check out the brew pubs to see if they had ESPN TV so that Jerry and Rick can watch tomorrow’s Suns game. No luck so far.

Here are the pictures.

Day 10

Today we left Sheridan to the West back up on 14 to Greybull then back East on 16 to Buffalo and I-90. We road that to Spearfish, SD. We dropped off the interstate to take 2 lane blacktops to Keystone and our motel for the week.

My GPS route somehow got us on 10 miles of gravel road. With our old riding skills on off highway bikes we navigated the road just fine.
